This project has a special meaning to me other than just an interesting study in shading. I took this picture in Austin the day we took our kids to the Capital building for a tour and to see my art on display in the Rotunda basement. It was a great day and I plan to use this as a thank you to a special person instrumental in making that display happen. This is my favorite stage of burning, when its about half way done and it looks like its coming out of the wood. This round column is going to be a challenge and its kinda making me nervous. I tend to put the most difficult part off till I can work up the nerve to tackle it. Funny thing is when I do get around to it its usually not nearly as hard as I had imagined it to be.
